Culvert

The culverts are the water flow that flows continuously or occurs as a result of precipitation; They are hydrological art structures that allow the road to be passed under the road without damaging a road or railway. The culverts can be constructed in different shapes and sizes according to the physical and hydrological characteristics of the land they are located in.

Vent Types

  1. Pipe Vents:They are used under fillings that are not too high. They can be cast in the form of circular cross-sections or basket handles. Those with a circular cross-section; They can be 0.60-0.80-1.00 and 1.20 m in diameter. Concrete or stone walls are built at the head of the inner culvert so that the water entering and exiting the culvert does not damage the filling.
  1. Box Vents: These are box section culverts with openings between 1-3 meters and heights between 0.6-3 meters under high fill. They can be made with one, two or three eyes. They can be adjusted according to variable and live loads. They are easy to assemble and solid structures.
  2. Arched Vents: Arched grilles applied in high fillings where constricted and box grilles are not sufficient; They can be made of masonry or reinforced concrete arches.
  3. Vents with Deck: They consist of side legs made of concrete or stone material and the upper deck. The distance between two legs is less than 8 meters. If it is more than 8 meters, it is called a bridge.
